About Me

Your Healing Journey Begins Today

Greetings! My name is Svetlana

Registered Psychotherapist

My Experience

I have 15+ years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families navigating a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, trauma, self-esteem, substance use, and emotional regulation. My areas of specialization include trauma and substance use, and my professional experience spans hospitals, emergency services, the justice system, and remote mining industries. I work with clients who may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward, and I support them in developing insight, resilience, practical tools, and healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.

Therapeutic Approach

My approach is integrative, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s needs. I draw from evidence-informed modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion-focused therapy, mindfulness-based practices, attachment-informed therapy, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based approaches. Together, we work to understand patterns, build coping strategies, process difficult emotions, and create space for growth, healing, and greater self-compassion.

Training and Education

I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, as well as postgraduate certificates in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. My graduate training in counselling psychology provides a strong foundation in therapeutic theory, clinical skills, ethical practice, assessment, and evidence-informed approaches to supporting mental health and emotional well-being. My additional training in CBT, DBT, EFT, and IFS supports my work with clients in identifying unhelpful patterns, developing practical coping strategies, strengthening emotional regulation, improving interpersonal effectiveness, and building greater resilience. My background in philosophy further informs my work by supporting thoughtful reflection, curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep respect for each client’s values, meaning-making, and lived experience.

What Clients Can Expect

Clients can expect a warm, non-judgmental, and supportive environment where therapy moves at a pace that feels manageable, whether sessions take place in person or virtually. Whether you are seeking support for a specific challenge or looking to better understand yourself, I aim to help you feel heard, empowered, and equipped with tools that support meaningful and lasting change.

“You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.“
